Our Story

Seasons Funeral Chapel is proudly owned and operated by Holly (Charney) Fjeldsted. I began my career in 1991 and received embalming and funeral director licenses in 1993. Seasons Funeral Services was established in 2007 and has grown in my community to offer full funeral services.

At Seasons Funeral Chapel we know how difficult this time can be. We are here to help you with transition of losing a loved one. We explain your options and we honour all faiths.

To better my community by bringing people together, offering a gathering space in times of sorrow and celebration as well as for education, health services and community driven initiatives.


The principles of Seasons Funeral Chapel are to support families in an honest and straightforward manner. We thoroughly explain all the possible services and comprehensively outline the costs so that families understand their options and can make informed choices. We get to know the families that we serve, so that the true spirit of their loved will be the foundation of their unique plans and incorporate their spiritual, cultural and family values. We serve people in what truly is their most difficult times and they trust us to take care of their family and their loved ones. We take this responsibility very seriously.


Holly (Charney) Fjeldsted started in the funeral service industry in 1991 at Klassen Funeral Chapel in Winnipeg at the age of 17 years. She received her funeral director and embalming licenses in 1993 and continued to work until the end of 1999. Holly then married Chris and stayed at home to raise her children, Aydin, Hudson and Dexter in Cooks Creek. She opened Seasons in the summer of 2007.


Sheryl (Sellen) Ruta is the Office Manager and Funeral Assistant at Seasons. She is married to Nick and have two beautiful daughters, Alyssa and Lexi. She has lived in OakBank her entire life and before coming to Seasons in 2013 she worked and cared for children at OakBank Kids Korner for over 20 years.


Other staff include, licensed funeral directors and embalmers Rick Kotaska and Jean Guy Mercier, and funeral assistants Brian Galka and Mickey Davies.
